Welcome to my website, first of all let me introduce myself.

My name is John Haverkate, born on January 4, 1968 and living in Dronten (Netherlands). Father of 2 sons (Stephan and Marc) and married to Susanne. Of course you already get a pretty good picture of me through my social media accounts (twitter, facebook and LinkedIn) but of course that doesn't tell it all. Who am I ?

The common thread through my career is formed by: IT/Networking, the combination of technology/commerce, setting up new initiatives/departments/companies, coaching and management. In addition to my management responsibilities, I have always wanted to stay close to technology. In assessments, my work and thinking level is characterized as HBO+/WO.

Characteristics in which I am recognized by my environment are: perfectionist, goal-oriented, persevering, enthusiastic, self-taught, creative, intelligent, people manager who is experienced as strong and convincing.

Some employers where I have proven my worth are Vendex international (setting up computer departments), ALSO/Actebis Computers and Landis ICT Solutions (product management), Ingram Micro (international business development), Samsung Electronics (B2B IT Service manager), Ahold Delhaize (AH Tech Product Owner Network Services) etc. In addition, in my spare time I have always been involved with graphic design, web design, and advising small companies with regard to growth plans, change management, etc.. In recent years I have mainly developed myself further towards HBO psychology, coaching etc..

My spare time is mainly spend on sports (race cycling, running, scuba diving), drawing (on a digital drawing tablet) and photography. Any results of this drawing, photographing, etc. will undoubtedly get a place on this website from time to time.

My very first diving experience was in Egyptian Hurghada. After getting my first certification (PADI Open Water Diver) it was immediately clear that this would be a new hobby. So I immediately started looking for diving opportunities in the Netherlands, especially to ensure that I would continue to dive regularly and thereby improve my diving skills. Diving club Aquavit turned out to be a very suitable diving club for me. After obtaining the NOB 2* and 3* certificate and various

specializations (nitrox, rescue, ice diving, dry suit diving, full face mask, underwater photography etc.) I really felt the need to pass on my knowledge with my enthusiasm for diving. The choice to further develop into a diving instructor was therefore a logical one for me.

In the period that followed I developed into a 2* diving instructor and Instructor Trainer for the Dutch Underwater Sports Association (NOB), in addition, as an instructor for the International Association for Handicapped Divers (IAHD instructor) and IAHD instructor Trainer for many years enjoyed guiding people with a disability, for example at FunDiving.

Since I have spent a large part of my career working in IT and I am quite adept at creating and giving presentations, graphic design and web design, I naturally became largely responsible for developing and optimizing all possible diving theory lessons and the websites.
